A small fire, lit in 2009. Now burning across Lagos.
Burning Hearts began with a single feeding program in a Lagos slum. Today it is a community of 4,000+ volunteers and 60 staff across Lagos.
It started with a pot of rice.
In 2009, Pastor Adeyinka Ojo cooked rice for fourteen children outside a Lagos church. He came back the next week. And the next. By year three, it was 400 children, twice a week, across three Lagos communities.
The mission has grown — but the recipe hasn't. Show up. Listen. Eat together. Stay long enough to be missed when you leave.
Today the Burning Hearts Global Mission Inc. is a registered nonprofit operating across Lagos through partnerships with more than 40 local churches and community organizations.
Four convictions that shape every naira.
Dignity First
Every person we serve is an image-bearer. We listen before we lead.
Local Roots
We follow the lead of community elders and pastors, never the other way.
Radical Transparency
Public budgets, audited annually. You see where every naira goes.
Lasting Fire
Relief is the spark; discipleship and development are the lasting flame.
A team rooted in Lagos.
Our leadership is intentionally local — because the people closest to the need are best equipped to meet it.
